One of the greatest benefits of living near San Francisco is finding new and exciting things to do and see every day. Here are my current Bay Area favorites in a few categories – Enjoy!

FOOD

Zazie ~ Steel Cut Oats with Crème Brulee and Bananas – enough said?

Plow ~ If you can leave even one tiny piece of Plow Potatoes on your plate you win!

Stable Café ~ Cozy up on their gorgeous garden patio and tuck into a Pomba and a cup of Four Barrel Coffee and you’ll think you’ve found heaven.

Media Noche ~ Hands down the best Cuban sandwiches around in one of the cutest spaces in San Francisco.

Mersea ~ Treasure Island restaurant formed from a collection of recycled shipping containers. Good comfort food, full bar, and one of the most spectacular views of San Francisco around.

 

VINTAGE DÉCOR

Beach House Style ~ Fun collection of buildings filled with everything you can imagine.

Artefact Design & Salvage ~ Gorgeous shop and awe-inspiring yard chock full of curated salvage goods, and of course, Axel the bulldog.

Acres Home & Garden ~ Books, decor, cooking accoutrements, and some of the Bay Area’s most creative window displays.

Big Daddy’s Antiques ~ One of a kind, drool-worthy pieces.

Ampersand ~ The little blue shop on Albion Street – make your own or let them design a bouquet for you.

Shelldance Orchid Gardens ~ A magical spot filled with more gorgeous orchids than I’ve ever seen in one place.

Flora Grubb Gardens ~ Spend an hour or more in this magical place, have a coffee, sit amongst the plants, and plot your garden.

GIFTS FOR YOU OR A FRIEND

ZGO Perfumery ~ Unbelievable collection of candles, fragrances, and bath products.

Glassybaby ~ Jewel toned votives from a company that gives generously to charity. Come and watch the glass blowing pros at their craft, and sign up for glass blowing classes.

Book Passage ~ Author events a specialty in both city and Marin stores.

City Lights ~ Landmark of the Beat Era, the perfect place to spend a few hours.

Borderlands ~ Ground zero for sci-fi, fantasy, and horror fans.

Omnivore ~ Dedicated to food, this shop has new, used, and collectible books on food and drink. Author events are a specialty.
